We are excited to bring UL’s Professor Eoin Devereux as Guest Speaker at our UL Alumni Dublin Gathering on 9 May.  An academic and a creative writer, Prof Devereux has published extensively on media and popular music including work on David Bowie, Morrissey, Joy Division and The Cranberries.

With the recent release of the 25th anniversary, remastered edition of The Cranberries' debut album, Prof Devereux will present ‘Waltzing Back’ – an illustrated lecture on The Cranberries: 1989-1993. The talk will focus on the band’s early history and the making of the album ‘Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?’ its influences and artwork.

The venue for this special event is The Odeon, 57 Harcourt St, Dublin 2 with Bank of Ireland once again generously sponsoring the event.

A welcome reception will begin at 6pm followed by Prof Devereux’s lecture, Q&A and networking opportunity.

All UL Alumni, former students and their guests are welcome, however, places are limited and we anticipate reaching capacity quickly.  There is a €10 charge for this event; all proceeds will be donated to the UL Foundation University of Sanctuary Scholarship Fund.
