40-year Reunion of the Class of 1977



Thank you to everyone who has registered to attend the 2017 UL Alumni Reunion of the class of 1977 which will take place this Saturday, 9 September.  Registration for this event is now closed.

We are really looking forward to another memorable alumni event and from the feedback we have received, we know you are too!

As you know, we are putting every arrangement in place to ensure things go smoothly. Please note the following and let us know if you plan to go on the campus tour:


CAR PARKING: All car parks are marked with a white ‘P’ in a blue Box on the campus map and are free to park in on Saturday.


OPTIONAL CAMPUS TOUR: The popular campus tour provides you with a great opportunity to explore the University campus which has developed dramatically on both sides of the river Shannon in recent years. The Campus Tour begins at 4.45pm and will set-off from Main Reception (which is the familiar sloped glass entrance to the main building situated between Blocks D and E) . Please bear in mind the tour is outdoor, will last for 90 minutes approximately and will finish in the Plaza area in front of main reception.  You are advised to bring appropriate clothing (in case of rain) and comfortable footwear. Main Reception is no. 13 on the campus map.  PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU INTEND TO GO ON THE CAMPUS TOUR SO THAT WE CAN ENSURE THAT WE HAVE ENOUGH TOUR GUIDES, LET US KNOW BY EMAILING



TICKETS: As you know, this Reunion is a ticket-only event and therefore, only those who have purchased tickets will be admitted. Tickets will not be available for purchase on the day. Everyone who has registered in advance can collect their tickets at the UL Alumni Registration Desks at main reception.


REGISTRATION: Registration Desks will be open at main reception from 4.30pm until 8pmN.B. You must register in order to receive your wristband, which will give you access to the venues.


PLASSEY HOUSE: A welcome drinks reception will take place in Plassey House, (no. 14 on the Campus map), at 6.30pm followed by a sumptuous  3-course meal at 7pm in the East Room, Plassey House.


THE STABLES CLUB:  After the meal, your event wrist band will also admit you to The Stables Club Bar,(no. 16 on the Campus map),  where some of our other reunions are taking place during the evening.  With DJ Ber Angley looking after the music, this promises to be a lively party going on until the early hours.


SCHEDULE: Finally, to re-cap, the Schedule for your Reunion is as follows:


·         4:45pm                Campus Tour (optional), departing from Main Reception

·         6.30pm                 Welcome Drinks Reception, Plassey House

·         7pm                      Dinner, East Room , Plassey House

·         9pm – Late          Party with DJ Ber in the Stables Club (optional)

Early Bird Competition: 

Thank you to everyone who registered early, the winner of the weekend in the Castletroy Park Hotel for the event is Audrey Nicholas BA European Studies '82.  

The winner of the second competition for one night in the Castletroy Park is Daniel Beere BSc Digital Media Design '12.

Congratulations to both.
